About The Position

Surfx Technologies is a fast-growing company that offers atmospheric argon plasmas for the high-volume manufacturing of integrated circuits, semiconductor packages, printed circuit boards, and other microelectronic devices. These automated plasma machines are an excellent choice for surface cleaning, activation, and metal oxide removal. The Surfx Technologies team delivers this atmospheric argon plasma technology for assembled products that are less likely to corrode, delaminate, or come unglued during their lifetime. Our customers include the world's leading semiconductor manufacturers and technology companies. Our industry leading tools deliver fast, effective, damage-free and particle-free surface modification, employing our proprietary atmospheric pressure, argon plasma technology. Collaborating within the team, this role requires deep knowledge of mechatronics to design and develop innovative new products. The Service Engineer works closely with sales engineers, service engineers, process engineers and management to help Surfx gain a significant share of the semiconductor equipment industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered
  • 0 to 5 years related experience
  • Experience in system-level troubleshooting across hardware, networking, and control systems, with hands-on skills in diagnosing and resolving complex issues
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and production environments, with insight into how subsystems integrate into larger automated workflows
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across software teams, hardware engineers, and external customers
  • Highly detail-oriented, with strong documentation, organizational, and process-management capabilities to support scalable integration efforts
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, including to Asia and Europe, to support global customer deployments and business operations

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact, providing world-class on-site support
  • Efficiently diagnose and service equipment ensuring a rapid turnaround time to minimize customer downtime
  • Execute comprehensive field service and preventative maintenance protocols at client facilities to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability
  • Proactively manage the local inventory of spare parts, ensuring essential components are available for both scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs
  • Meticulously document all technical interventions, repairs, and installations within our service management system ensuring data integrity and compliance
  • Partner closely with the Sales team to provide technical insights and updates, ensuring a seamless customer experience and driving total client satisfaction
