About The Position

The Service Engineer oversees all processes and procedures related to the maintenance and servicing of slurry and non-slurry pumps, as well as other types of rotating equipment, including field service operations. This role requires practical technical and mechanical expertise, along with strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and directly engage with customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of science degree in Mechanical Engineering expected; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • At least 10 years of experience with machinery, mechanical equipment, and rotating equipment projects.
  • Proficiency in rotating equipment design, repair practices, and root cause analysis tools and techniques.
  • Experience managing repair projects for rotating machinery.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a customer-focused aftermarket service environment.
  • Demonstrated success in developing services for engineered products and meeting aftermarket service goals.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of achieving business objectives.
  • Exceptional computer, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Experience adhering to and managing departmental budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee technical engineering evaluations, design processes, and provide technical support for repair needs.
  • Ensure quality assurance and offer leadership and decision-making support for the servicing and repair of slurry and non-slurry pumps, as well as other rotating equipment.
  • Develop and implement innovative repair solutions for products.
  • Establish and maintain engineering guidelines for repairs and services, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with GIW and KSB research and development teams to create new designs, metallurgical improvements, and work scopes for repairs.
  • Document, manage, and control engineering change processes within GIW's service organization.
  • Conduct root cause failure analysis investigations, interact with customers, and generate detailed reports.
  • Provide technical support and work closely with GIW's service center and other internal departments to ensure efficient and productive service operations.
  • Apply mechanical engineering principles to customer projects and product repairs.
  • Travel regionally to support internal operations and deliver customer service.
