About The Position

The Service Engineer is responsible for installation, operating, and maintaining the equipment essential to the Proton Therapy System (PTS). This includes troubleshooting equipment issues, performing routine preventative maintenance, conducting system inspections, and communicating the system's status to leadership and other stakeholders. The role also involves supporting hardware and software testing and participating in all phases of PTS maintenance, including unit testing, integration testing, validation testing, and other site-related activities that affect installation activities.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering, Physics or other applicable field.
  • 3+ years' experience in electrical/mechanical system repair, troubleshooting, maintenance of large integrated systems.
  • Experience in several of the following: Cyclotrons, Electronics, Mechanical Systems, Software Analysis, X-Ray Systems, Positioning Equipment, Cooling Systems, Vacuum Systems, PLC's (Siemens), Regulation Loops, Drivers, Sensors, Electric Motors, High Voltage Equipment, Power Supplies, Proton Therapy Systems.
  • Solid general knowledge of/experience with MS Suite: Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, Teams.
  • Knowledge of local EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of LINUX systems, SAP, Siemens Step 7, and SalesForce is a plus.
  • Experience in LEAN maintenance and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of maintenance planning within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain the Proton Therapy System (PTS) for installation activities, including QA, EHS, Validation, integration testing, Development, Software/Hardware Testing, Troubleshooting, and Experimentation.
  • Troubleshoot PTS equipment including electrical, mechanical, cyclotron, and beam physics.
  • Perform maintenance of the PTS including routine preventative maintenance, system upgrades, and corrective maintenance as necessary.
  • Conduct system inspections and communicate the status of the system to leadership and IBA employees.
  • Provide support to subcontractors (rigging, survey, etc.), ID, EHS, and QA.
  • Maintain adequate records as defined by Site Manager in accordance with company QA and FDA regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
