About The Position

PURPOSE OF JOB: This position is responsible primarily for parking and transporting vehicles from place to place. The porter is also responsible for cleaning vehicles, performing light maintenance, parts distribution, retail trade acceptance, and other miscellaneous tasks requested by managers. JOB DUTIES: Operations Accept and inspect new and retailer trade vehicles brought into the dealership, noting and reporting any damages from transit. Assign stock numbers to each new vehicle, notate the stock number on the vehicle window, and ensure proper keys are placed in the vehicle and tagged. Move and park vehicles as needed in inventory, new vehicle stock, or in the service area. Transport retailer trade vehicles to other retail facilities as needed. Wash, wax, and maintain vehicle cleanliness. Ensure all newly sold vehicles are clean and have a full tank of gas prior to delivery to customer. Transport service or repair customers to their destination as needed. Assist with the cleanliness and appearance of the retail facility. General Prompt and regular attendance. Perform other appropriate duties as may be assigned by Management. Travel as business needs may require. Quality & Continuous Improvement Personally commit to quality in all aspects of work. Provide World Class Customer Service for internal and external customers. Participate in and promote the established Quality Improvement Process (QIP) for continuous improvement. Participate on teams to research, measure, and correct problems and to strive for process improvement. Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma/equivalent is minimally required.
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of customer service excellence and effectively interact with customers.
  • Must maintain a positive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced automotive sales environment.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to drive and operate both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles.
  • Must possess and continuously maintain a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
