About The Position

The Service Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and dispatching service technicians, scheduling preventive maintenance (PM), and ensuring timely responses to customer service requests. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and excellent communication skills to maintain smooth operations and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Internet Explorer.
  • At least one year of industry-related experience preferred.
  • Understanding of various brands of material handling equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to establish trust with customers and colleagues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to de-escalate customer concerns and resolve service issues effectively.
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills to meet service demands.
  • Awareness of geographical locations to optimize dispatching efficiency.
  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods while managing dispatch operations.
  • Adherence to company policies and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Dispatch van technicians based on geographical location and job urgency.
  • Schedule new and existing PM services, making adjustments as needed.
  • Enter all PMs accurately into Business Central and track their completion.
  • Monitor and schedule van maintenance to ensure service reliability.
  • Enter and update equipment changes as needed in Business Central.
  • Send daily technician schedule out nightly for the upcoming day.
  • Oversee work orders and ensure timely resolution, regulating open work orders over 30 days.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for customer service inquiries, answering calls and emails promptly.
  • Maintain open communication with Sales Representatives regarding customer concerns.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
