About The Position
Abode Services, one of the largest and most effective nonprofits working to end homelessness in the Bay Area, is seeking a Service Coordinator for San Mateo County. The Service Coordinator is responsible for the provision of housing services to individuals who are homeless. This role involves providing a variety of services aimed at increasing housing stability, including counseling, referrals to financial and legal services, and developing individualized housing plans that lead to permanent housing stability following financial assistance. The Service Coordinator also ensures that participants are connected to other necessary supportive services, thereby enhancing their overall well-being and stability. In this position, you will work closely with landlords and other social service partners to coordinate essential services for program participants. This includes assisting residents in retaining housing and maximizing their independence by linking them to community services such as crisis intervention, rehabilitation, income support, employment assistance, and health services. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining individual service plans and needs assessments for each household, meeting with them in person as frequently as necessary, and maintaining accurate client files with all required documentation.
