About The Position

The Service Coordinator assumes responsibility for coordinating programs and services to help residents maintain a good quality of life. This position is part-time, requiring 20 hours a week, and is located in Sandstone Foothills, Mineral Wells, Texas. National Church Residences serves more than 46,000 seniors through an array of housing and health care services, making it the nation’s largest nonprofit provider of affordable senior housing.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field is preferred.
  • Preferred two or more years of experience in social service delivery with elderly and/or family population.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of supportive services and resources in the area served.
  • Ability to advocate, organize, problem-solve, and provide results for residents.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate programs and activities for residents.
  • Serve as a liaison to community agencies and network with community service providers.
  • Identify low-cost service providers and negotiate discounts.
  • Engage all residents to identify areas of need and make referrals to community agencies.
  • Develop a Resource Directory listing state and local service providers.
  • Sponsor educational events on health care, agency support, life skills, and referral sources.
  • Provide quality customer service to residents, addressing concerns and assisting with basic needs.
  • Assist residents in acquiring and utilizing desired community services.
  • Report all complaints made by residents and/or families.
  • Manage relationships internally and externally with appropriate communication and interpersonal skills.
