About The Position

The Area Manager position is a highly responsible role, ensuring that all contracts are performed at the level described in the Scope of Work and meet the customer’s expectations.

Requirements

  • The position requires a high level of communication skills, including training line workers and supervisors, as well as maintaining a positive relationship with workers.
  • A high school diploma (or GED) is required
  • Valid State of Florida Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Strong math aptitude is essential.
  • Professional, takes initiative, dependable, accurate, and takes pride in work.
  • The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • The Area Manager collaborates with the Division Operations Manager, the Quality Control/Training Manager, and the Training Supervisor to ensure that employees receive adequate training in the safest and most effective job procedures.
  • Responsible for budgets, P&L statements, quality control, staffing, training, and work assignments, as well as timecards.
  • Quality control requires regular written on-site inspections conducted with the Site Supervisor and/or customer
  • Responsible for determining the necessary staffing levels to meet the Scope of Work while staying within budget.
  • Requires a satisfactory working knowledge in all major areas of building maintenance, including restroom sanitation, office cleaning, carpet care, hard floor care, equipment operation and maintenance, chemical handling, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and safety protocols.
  • May be required to attend scheduled training sessions conducted by the Division Operations Manager and/or the Quality Control/Training Manager.
  • Certification and participation in BSCAI, CMI, ISSA, or IEHAI may be required for continued employment.
  • Ability to fill out clear, legible written reports, quality control inspections, Purchase Order requests, employee evaluations, inventory reports, and other forms as needed.
  • Expertise in communicating complex tasks in a clear and concise format to line workers and supervisors.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and implement the Scope of Work for a contract and communicate that knowledge to the Site Supervisor and workers.
  • Capacity to substitute for absent Site Supervisor on short notice.
  • Other duties as directed by the Vice President – Service Contracts Division
