About The Position

The Service Clerk plays a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining store operations at Smart & Final. This position focuses on providing excellent customer service, organizing merchandise, and ensuring a clean and welcoming shopping environment. The Service Clerk is responsible for various tasks that enhance the shopping experience while adhering to specific operational restrictions.

Requirements

• Ability to read and write English and interact with the general public and co-workers.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Collect and organize shopping carts within the store and retrieve carts from the parking lot and surrounding areas.
• Assist customers with the loading of merchandise into shopping carts and their vehicles.
• Check retail prices on shelves for check stand personnel.
• Pull merchandise from the check stand and return it to the proper shelf.
• Walk aisles and return misplaced items to their proper location.
• Face merchandise on aisles as needed.
• Monitor cleanliness of store entrance and surrounding areas, including sweeping and trash removal.
• Mop outside walkways and clean entrance/exit doors daily.
• Monitor cleanliness of the store throughout the day, including restocking restrooms as needed.
