CCFS is looking for a Service Center Manager. You will have the challenging role of directing a team with a common goal of providing the highest level of customer satisfaction and delivering goods to clients on time. This is a hands-on leadership role where approximately 50% of your time is spent behind the wheel on local Class A routes. You’ll stay directly connected to your team, your customers, and the day-to-day realities of the operation — because the best leaders don’t just manage from the office, they know what it takes out on the road. The other 50% of your time is focused on directing dock, linehaul, and pickup & delivery operations to ensure safety, quality, and on-time performance. Requirements

  • Two years’ supervisory and transportation experience
  • A valid Class A license with relevant experience.
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Effective organizational and multitasking skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to get along with diverse personalities.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication (written and verbal), analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry.

  • Forklift experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate as an active Class A driver approximately 50% of the time, running local routes and setting the standard for safety, professionalism, and efficiency on the road
  • Perform regular forklift operation as part of core job responsibilities
  • Assists with planning, implementing and overseeing the work of staff members to ensure efficiency and compliance
  • Monitor and direct all dispatching activities, including tracking, routing, and dispatching transportation vehicles.
  • Develops dock door assignments, staging, and yard management plan to support operations.
  • Hire, train, and educate employees in company procedures and policies.
  • Responsible for overseeing the quality handling of paperwork including, but not limited to, bills of lading, waybills, routing stickers, delivery receipts, trip manifests, delivery exception reports, line haul driver daily reports (LDR), driver daily reports (DDR), vehicle inspection reports, forklift inspection reports, load sheets, etc.
  • Build and maintain culture for proactive safety focused productive, efficient, low-attrition workforce.
  • Requires daily driving and regular forklift operation as part of core job responsibilities.
  • Implement changes to transportation services, policies, or scheduling as needed
  • Coach team members to develop talent
  • Produce high levels of service, including on-time pickup and delivery
  • Produce high level of productivity and optimal levels of labor spend.
