About The Position

Solect Energy is a leading provider of solar and energy storage solutions for businesses, schools, cities, towns, and nonprofits in the Northeast, with over 800 installed projects totaling more than 160 MW. With a team of experts in development, technology, policy, incentives, and financing, we offer a comprehensive approach to help our clients reduce energy costs and maximize their solar and storage investments. Our Operations & Maintenance team serves more than 700 customers, maintaining a 99% renewal rate each year. Based in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, Solect is a wholly owned subsidiary of Pattern Energy Group. The Services Business Development Manager is responsible for meeting quarterly and yearly sales objectives. They are responsible for finding and developing new customers to create a robust 'funnel' of active opportunities that facilitates meeting the company's annual sales objectives. This position is responsible for developing business opportunities for off-base (non-Solect-installed) service agreements and Special Service Projects (SSPs) within the Customer Service Division of Solect Energy.

Requirements

  • At least three years of successful sales or development experience in the Commercial Solar and/or Storage Industry, or the Energy Sector.
  • Previous experience working with Commercial & Industrial Sector customers in a collaborative setting.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Ability to follow a disciplined project development and workflow process within a team.
  • Manage multiple engagements and projects daily.
  • Possess the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (or similar), and Salesforce or similar CRM packages.
  • Contract Management experience.
  • Experience resolving AP and AR workflows/issues.
  • Strong knowledge of PV O&M business and operations a plus.
  • Forecasting experience.
  • Formal education: minimum college degree, BS or BA.

Responsibilities

  • Sell off-base service agreements and SSP proposals to achieve revenue targets.
  • Establish and maintain strategic accounts to drive sales.
  • Develop proposals.
  • Collaborate with internal resources throughout the SSP sales cycle for design, engineering, proposal creation, and contract support to help close new business.
  • Track and update the status and metrics of all project opportunities in Salesforce.
  • Follow up with customers after installation to ensure satisfaction and identify additional projects, both with the customer and through their network.
  • Handle miscellaneous activities and training.
