About The Position
As a Service Associate I at Eastern Bank, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service while also achieving specific sales and service goals. This position combines the responsibilities of a Customer Service Representative and a Teller, allowing you to engage with customers both in person and over the phone. You will be responsible for opening deposit accounts, preparing and processing loan applications across various lending units, and closing loans for customers in applicable business lines such as consumer lending. Your proactive outreach to high-value customers will be essential in retaining and growing the bank's portfolio. For licensed individuals, there is an opportunity to sell annuities and insurance products, further enhancing the service you provide to customers. In addition to sales responsibilities, you will also handle teller duties, which include processing deposits, cashing checks, and managing the sale of monetary instruments. You will need to adhere to all operational compliance and bank policies while managing daily account maintenance and addressing service issues as they arise. If you are working in a supermarket position, you will also engage with prospects and existing customers to discuss the bank's products and services, making your role dynamic and customer-focused. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for candidates who have 1-2 years of sales experience in retail, financial services, or hospitality. While some banking experience is preferred, it is not mandatory. The ideal candidate will be an outgoing self-starter, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, and possess strong communication skills to effectively convey information and build relationships with customers and colleagues alike. You will need to be technically literate and capable of quickly learning about the bank's products and services to provide the best possible service to our customers.
