Come join us at ChristianaCare! ChristianaCare is looking for a full-time Service Assistant I - PACU to transport patients to and from PACU. Provides equipment to support patient transport requirements. Maintain a clean and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors at Christiana Care. Ensure supplies are adequately stocked on the unit.

Requirements

• High school diploma preferred
• Customer service experience preferred
• Potential exposure to infectious disease unless special precautions are followed.
• Safety Glasses must be worn at all times.
• Frequent: Handwashing.
• Intermittent exposure of skin to dilute cleaning agents.
• Continuous: standing or walking; pushing and/or pulling - often involving considerable weight; repetitive motion of fingers, hands, wrists, and/or elbows - often involving considerable weight.
• Intermittent: bending &/or crouching; lifting and/or lowering - occasionally involving considerable weight.
• Must pass back evaluation examination

Responsibilities

• Transports patients via stretcher, wheelchair, beds, and specialized vehicles as directed by peri anesthesia charge nurses and leaders
• Maintains all patient and ancillary areas of the peri anesthesia areas in a clean and sanitary condition.
• Maintains all carts/equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe condition. Carts/equipment is not to be left unattended. Remove ALL empty boxes from carts/closets/floors all areas.
• Maintains a clean/orderly appearance in all Environmental Services closets.
• Maintains supplies in bedside drawers, cabinets, and airway/isolation boxes in PACU.
• Maintains paper and soap/hand gel supplies in all areas of the Christiana PACU.
• Cleans/disinfects all precaution rooms in accordance with infection control policies/procedures.
• Answers Environmental Services texts/calls when assigned in a timely manner. Turn phones on and open Vocera app immediately when clocked in for your shift and log into each app on the phone to be prepared to work.
• Attends regularly scheduled in-service training programs given by the department.
• Reports any maintenance problems or damages to Supervisor/Manager.
• Maintains a helpful, productive attitude throughout the workday.
• Picks up trash and soiled linen in PACU.
• Cleans/disinfects empty rooms in a timely manner for the next patient by rounding the cores.
• Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices.
• Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
