About The Position

The Service Architect is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of enterprise LAN/WAN network infrastructure. This role ensures secure, highly available, and compliant network services that support critical business operations. The engineer will play a key role in daily operations, incident recovery, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement of network platforms

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 plus years of experience working in an IP infrastructure or enterprise networking environment.
  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and operating secure, scalable, and manageable switched and routed networks.
  • Strong expertise in enterprise switching technologies, including VLANs, trunking, inter-VLAN routing, port aggregation, link negotiation, and fault isolation.
  • Strong expertise in enterprise routing technologies, including static and dynamic routing, with hands-on experience using OSPF and/or BGP.
  • Experience configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting VPN technologies.
  • Hands-on experience using packet capture tools and techniques for advanced fault isolation.
  • Enterprise-level experience with security technologies such as IPsec VPNs, SSL VPNs, and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS).
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls, including Juniper and/or Palo Alto platforms.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with shifting deadlines.
  • Hands-on experience with Juniper routers and firewalls, Palo Alto firewalls, Extreme switches, and/or Ericsson routers.

Nice To Haves

  • Industry certifications such as Palo Alto, Juniper, or Extreme Networks certifications are a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain LAN/WAN network infrastructure supporting enterprise environments.
  • Perform daily health checks and operational monitoring of network elements, including switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, IPS, and related components.
  • Maintain network elements on supported software versions in alignment with Lifecycle Management (LCM) plans, working closely with third-party providers (3PP).
  • Design and maintain IP addressing schemes, network diagrams, traffic flows, and firewall policies.
  • Ensure network environments are secure and compliant with Ericsson corporate security policies in collaboration with L3 Security teams.
  • Execute configuration changes across Data Communication network elements following approved change management processes.
  • Develop and maintain Method of Procedure (MOP) documentation and coordinate proactive and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Participate in customer and stakeholder meetings to assess the impact of upcoming network-related changes on production systems.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, diagrams, and traffic flow records.
  • Lead incident recovery efforts, troubleshoot major service degradations, and resolve trouble tickets within defined SLAs.
  • Support Service Delivery Managers with root cause analysis, problem resolution, and strategies to mitigate service outages.
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to support escalations and critical outages

  • Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan: Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit’s objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

When you contribute at least 5% of eligible pay, you are receiving Ericsson’s full matching contributions of 4%. Matching and company automatic contributions stop when your total eligible pay for the year reaches the IRS limits. Employees will also receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost of basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage, as well as short-term and long-term disability coverage. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson’s Stock Purchase Plan.
  • New employees are provided a minimum of 15 days of accrued vacation, up to 3 personal days per year, 11 annual holidays, 8 hours of volunteer time, and 80 hours of sick time annually. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee’s start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
