We are looking for a competent, friendly service advisor to join our automotive shop. The individual in this role would act as the point of contact for our marine customers, from initial greet, to service explanation, to finished payment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a compassionate and patient attitude, and the ability to perform basic math skills. As a Service Advisor, you will greet customers upon their arrival to the shop and ascertain the reason for their visit through verbal interviews and visual assessments of their boat, engine, and trailer. You will connect customers with the appropriate marine mechanic or technician and consult with them regarding the best service options available. Your role will involve developing multiple solution methods to keep costs low while explaining all service options to customers, including time and cost estimates. You will provide in-depth information on original equipment manufacturer (OEM) part options and advise customers on warranty protections and other potential cost-saving service options. Additionally, you will track the maintenance or repair status, fill out reports on labor and cost of all services, and perform post-service inspections with customers, answering any questions they may have. You will also ring up customers at the front desk, facilitate financial transactions, and perform various customer service duties such as answering the phone, scheduling service appointments, and calling customers to inform them when their vehicles are ready for pick up. Managing the shop workflow and schedule for mechanics and technicians will also be part of your responsibilities.
