About The Position

The position involves scheduling service appointments and obtaining customer and vehicle data prior to arrival when possible. The role requires greeting customers in a timely and friendly manner, providing accurate written cost estimates for labor and parts, and establishing promised times for service. The individual will check on the progress of repairs throughout the day, contact customers regarding any changes in estimates or promised times, and explain cost and time requirements in detail, obtaining proper authorization for any additional repairs. Test-driving vehicles or referring to a test technician as necessary is also part of the job. Maintaining a Customer Satisfaction Index rating that is at least comparable to the manufacturer, zone, or branch average is essential. The position also involves advising customers on the care of their cars and the importance of maintaining their vehicles according to manufacturers' specifications, using maintenance menus. The individual must maintain a dealership-prescribed standard for hours per customer repair order written and understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations, including those governing hazardous waste disposal and OSHA right-to-know. Following all company safety policies and procedures and reporting any accidents to a manager or supervisor is mandatory.
