About The Position

Service Advisor Apprentice (Customer Experience Focus) Sterling KIA in Lafayette, LA is looking for motivated, customer-focused individuals to join our Service Team! As a Service Advisor Apprentice, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day communication flow of our Service Department. This position is heavily focused on answering incoming calls, scheduling service appointments, and keeping customers informed throughout the service process. You’ll serve as a first point of contact for many of our customers while also supporting Service Advisors and learning the skills needed to grow into a full Service Advisor role.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills with confidence on the phone
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer-focused mindset with a positive, professional attitude
  • Coachable and eager to learn and grow into a Service Advisor role
  • Team player who can support multiple priorities at once
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Must be at least 21 years old or have 3 full years of driving experience (insurance requirement)
  • Willingness to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

  • Handle a high volume of incoming calls for the Service Department
  • Schedule service appointments accurately and efficiently
  • Contact customers with updates on vehicle service status
  • Answer customer questions and provide clear, professional communication
  • Support Service Advisors by relaying messages and coordinating information between customers and technicians
  • Assist customers in person as needed, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience
  • Move vehicles on and off the premises as needed
  • Perform vehicle walk-arounds, including alignment check process
  • Provide shuttle rides for customers when required
  • Maintain a professional appearance and represent Sterling Automotive Group with integrity and courtesy
