About The Position

Position Overview: The Cambria Hotel Lake Placid - Lakeside Resort is seeking enthusiastic Servers (AM and PM shifts available) to join our hotel's culinary team. As a Server, you will play a key role in providing exceptional guest service within our hotel's dining areas. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure guests have a pleasant dining experience by delivering prompt and courteous service. You will be part of a dedicated team committed to delivering outstanding hospitality and creating lasting memories for our guests.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a server or in a related customer service position is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and colleagues.
  • Customer-oriented with a strong desire to provide outstanding service.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards is a plus.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as per the hotel's operational requirements.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to stand, walk, and lift moderate weights for an extended period.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests warmly as they enter the dining area, guide them to their tables, and ensure seating arrangements are organized efficiently.
  • Present menus to guests, provide recommendations if asked, and accurately take orders for food and beverages. Be attentive to special dietary requests and allergies.
  • Deliver orders promptly and professionally, ensuring that food is presented attractively and beverages are poured correctly. Use proper serving techniques to enhance the guest experience.
  • Maintain clean and orderly tables throughout service. Clear empty plates and glassware, refill water and beverages, and promptly address any spills or issues.
  • Familiarize yourself with menu items, daily specials, and promotions, and actively upsell additional items to enhance the guest experience and increase revenue.
  • Stay informed about the hotel's facilities, events, and services to provide guests with accurate information and assist with inquiries.
  • Address guest concerns promptly and professionally, striving to resolve issues to their satisfaction and escalating any unresolved matters to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including kitchen staff and management, to ensure smooth service flow and maintain a harmonious work environment.
  • Adhere to all food safety and health regulations, maintain cleanliness standards, and ensure the dining area is safe and hygienic.
  • Process guest payments accurately and securely, handling cash and credit transactions following hotel procedures.
