Founded in 1896 as Illinois' third golf club, Exmoor is a private, full-service country club, located in Highland Park, Illinois, 28 miles north of Chicago. With a championship golf course designed by Donald J. Ross, Exmoor continues to fulfill its original mission as a family club devoted to the game of golf, while offering a growing range of sports and social opportunities. Sports at Exmoor include golf, curling, tennis, swimming, ice skating, platform tennis, cross-country skiing, and the fastest-growing sport in America, pickleball. Requirements

2–3 years of experience in a serving role
Previous experience in a mid-scale, full-service restaurant environment
Strong knowledge of table-side service fundamentals and guest engagement
Familiarity with POS systems
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Team-oriented mindset with a professional, guest-focused approach

Responsibilities

Greet and seat guests courteously, offering personalized attention whenever possible
Check in with guests throughout the meal to ensure satisfaction and promptly address additional requests or special needs
Monitor tables continuously to anticipate needs without interrupting the guest experience.
Present menus and take accurate food and beverage orders, providing menu guidance and thoughtful recommendations
Maintain thorough knowledge of the food menu, daily specials, and seasonal offerings.
Understand Basic spirits, wine, and beer knowledge and how beverages pair with meals.
Serve food and beverages in accordance with established service standards and timing expectations
Execute tableside service when required (wine presentation, dessert service, finishing touches).
Follow proper wine service standards, including opening, pouring, and decanting when necessary.
Communicate guest orders clearly and efficiently to kitchen and bar teams using POS or handheld systems
Collaborate closely with bussers, food runners, and hosts to maintain smooth and efficient service flow
Process guest payments accurately, including cash and card transactions, and present bills professionally
Complete opening, closing, and side work duties in alignment with service standards
