They are currently looking for a hardworking and motivated individual to join their restaurant team as a Server at The Chestnut Inn. The Server's role involves waiting on customers, serving food and drinks according to established guidelines, procedures, and policies for food and beverage safety controls. This individual will interact with guests and staff in a cordial, efficient, and professional manner, ring guest checks, collect cash, and process credit charges following company policies. Additionally, the Server will assist with seating guests, clearing and setting tables, and preparing to-go orders.

Requirements

• High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma
• At least one year of experience in a restaurant setting
• Previous experience handling money
• Experience operating Point-of-sales (POS) and credit/debit card processing systems
• Able to work a flexible schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Fluent English speaking and written communication skills
• Good time management skills
• Professional dress, speech, and behavior
• Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Greets all customers in a warm, sincere, and helpful manner
• Takes orders and serves meals and beverages promptly and courteously
• Accurately enter orders into POS and manage close out of checks
• Ensures that work areas are clean and that equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored
• Follows safety and sanitation rules and practices
• Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and all company policies
• Helps bus and set tables and performs side-work
• Perform the role of banquet server as assigned
• Other duties as assigned
