About The Position

Salty's on Alki is seeking exceptional, outgoing, and smiling servers for the upcoming Spring and Summer Season. Salty's has been a regional icon for 40 years, known for its astonishing Northwest coastal cuisine, service, and premium yet playful dining experience. As a Server at Salty's, you are expected to be "always on stage" and ready to perform, bringing your shining personality to work. The role involves providing friendly, genuine, and responsive service to create an astonishing dining experience, with the primary objective of exceeding guest expectations to encourage their return. Salty's is looking for experienced, seasoned Servers, as well as individuals with a solid foundation in full-service restaurant operations, a base knowledge of spirits and wine, and a desire to advance in their hospitality careers.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years' high-volume dining room service experience.
  • A warm, friendly, and engaging personality.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of dining room service procedures and functions.
  • Have a working knowledge of beer, wine, liquor, and common drinks.
  • Possess basic math skills, cash handling procedures, and knowledge of Point-of-Sale system.
  • Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
  • Must be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds.
  • Open availability preferred, weekends and holidays required.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize hospitality.
  • Take beverage orders from guests and servers.
  • Learn the names of and personally recognize regular guests.
  • Record food and drink orders accurately and immediately input them into the point of sales system.
  • Accept guest payment, process credit card charges, and make change (if applicable).
  • Present menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding beverages and food.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas and service stations, including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas.
  • Receive and serve food orders to guests.
  • Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to the restaurant manager.
  • Greet guests who pass within 5ft.
  • Provide friendly, genuine, and responsive service to create an astonishing dining experience.
  • Exceed guest's expectations.
