About The Position

The Vista, an upscale casual restaurant in Greenville, SC, is seeking skilled and personable servers who share our passion for creating memorable dining experiences through genuine hospitality and sincere appreciation for our guests. As a Server at The Vista, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our guests' satisfaction by providing attentive service, making menu recommendations, and delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a server in an upscale or fine dining restaurant preferred.
  • Passion for providing genuine hospitality and creating memorable experiences for guests.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including wine pairings.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Genuine Hospitality: Greet guests warmly, creating a welcoming atmosphere that sets the tone for their dining experience. Exhibit a friendly and approachable demeanor, demonstrating sincere appreciation for our guests' patronage.
  • Attentive Service: Take and accurately record guests' food and beverage orders, and communicate them promptly to the kitchen and bar staff. Be attentive to guests' needs throughout their meal, ensuring timely delivery of courses and refilling beverages as needed.
  • Menu Knowledge: Develop a comprehensive understanding of The Vista's menu offerings, including daily specials and wine selections. Provide knowledgeable recommendations to guests, catering to their preferences and dietary restrictions.
  • Memorable Experiences: Strive to create exceptional dining experiences for each guest, going above and beyond to exceed their expectations. Anticipate guests' needs and provide personalized service to enhance their visit.
  • Team Collaboration: Work harmoniously with other restaurant staff, including bartenders, hosts/hostesses, and kitchen team, to ensure seamless service and overall guest satisfaction.
  • Upselling and Revenue Generation: Enhance guests' dining experience by upselling menu items and promoting special offerings, contributing to the restaurant's revenue growth.
  • Table Management: Maintain a clean and organized dining area, setting up and clearing tables efficiently to accommodate incoming guests and ensure smooth table turnover.
  • Follow Safety and Sanitation Standards: Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, ensuring a safe and hygienic dining environment for guests and team members.
