Position Summary The seasonal Server is responsible for providing attentive, professional, and friendly food and beverage service in a fast-paced, festive environment. This role includes delivering food and drinks promptly, accommodating guest needs, and ensuring an exceptional event experience that reflects the lively spirit of Mardi Gras. Servers will work closely with event staff and bartenders to maintain smooth operations, uphold high standards of service, and create a memorable experience for all guests. Servers will report to both the Banquet Team and Kitchen team for delivery of food and beverage services. This is a seasonal role from December 15, 2025 and will end on February 18, 2026. About the Venue The Arthur R. Outlaw Mobile Convention Center anchors lively downtown Mobile, Alabama, a city that offers world-class accommodations, retail shops, restaurants, museums, parks and art galleries. The 317,000-square-foot facility features 16 meeting rooms, two ballrooms and two exhibit halls that total 100,000 square feet. Covered walkways and crosswalks to nearby hotels give attendees the ultimate in convenience, with downtown dining, nightlife, shopping and sightseeing just minutes away. Winner of numerous architectural awards, the Mobile Convention Center takes full advantage of an exclusive waterfront setting. The striking exterior incorporates outdoor terraces on three sides of the venue, while the expansive windows - more than 45,000 square feet of exterior glass - afford magnificent views of the historic Mobile River from three levels.

Requirements

Experience working in a fast-paced, high volume environment preferred
Must have updated Food Handlers Card per Mobile County Health Department.
Must have a High School Diploma, G.E.D. or related Food Service Job Experience.
Must acquire and maintain a Food Handlers Card, Alcohol Awareness Certification, and other required compliance trainings.
Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, management staff and guest in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.

Responsibilities

Maintains knowledge of the menu and any special items being offered.
Provides quick, attentive, friendly and professional service to banquet guests and is able to communicate clearly with all customers.
Ensures that food items are served at proper temperature and immediately upon availability from the kitchen, as ordered by the customer.
Ensures neat presentation of all ordered items, with no spill-over.
Pre-buses tables and full buses tables when necessary during peak periods.
Maintains availability to work during many peak periods.
Stocks beverage station(s) when necessary (ice, juices, glassware, sugar packets, etc).
Maintains high responsiveness to customer desires and requests.
Maintains a professional and clean appearance.
Communicates with wait staff, bus persons, bartenders, supervisors, and kitchen staff in order to improve communication and coordination so that patrons may be impressed by their dining experience.
Builds and maintains knowledge regarding bar offerings so that patron questions may be accurately answered
