About The Position

Where talent meets opportunity! Come join our team Barrel House and be part of the Official watch party location for all of ISU sports! Barrel House is now seeking a server to join the team. The server for Barrel House is the main guest service and sales representative of the establishment. The server's focus is squarely on providing guests with a memorable experience - of the positive kind.

Requirements

High school or equivalent preferred
Preferred: Point of Sale System
Experience: 1 to 5 years previous server experience.
Be able to exert fast-paced mobility for long periods of time.
Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
Standing and walking for long periods (often 4–8 hours)
Carrying trays or plates (10–30+ pounds)
Frequent reaching, bending, and twisting
Walking quickly through crowded areas

Responsibilities

Greets guests and thanks them when they are leaving and builds rapport by asking questions and initiating conversation.
Responsible for hosting and bussing as needed.
Utilizes the Barrel House Steps of Service when serving guests.
Has extensive menu knowledge.
Possesses an awareness and ability to describe all food, drink, and special menu items.
Relays all orders to the bar and the kitchen via the POS tablet.
Continuously interacts with the kitchen to ensure delivery of all food items.
Sets up and maintains a section throughout the shift.
Possesses the ability to multitask and be aware of several tables' progression through the dining experience.
Cash handling: Closes out all table checks in an orderly and timely fashion.
Provides the guest with accurate and complete change, coupled with a sincere, "Thank you," and invitation to return.
Checks for guest satisfaction and makes any adjustments necessary.
Follows up on each order to ensure timely and accurate completion.
Pre-buses.
Runs food to guest tables.
Brings in condiments and anything else that is needed for the order.
Prints check, brings any carry-out container needed, presents check, and asks if he/she can be of any additional service.
Performs side duties as assigned.
Has a thorough knowledge of the menu.
Has a thorough knowledge of facility and operations.
Delivers professional, courteous, and efficient service to our guests.
Practices teamwork by helping co-workers.
Trains and guides other servers as requested by your manager.
Adheres to company standards, including personal hygiene and appearance.
Other duties as assigned.
