About The Position

The dual functionality of this position is to interact with the hotel guests and ensure they have great experience at AZ Brew & Café Azul. As a server you will tend to the guests as they dine. As the bartender you are responsible for preparing beverages and providing exceptional service to guests whether it be at the bar, during events or catered functions. (As well as any other property hosted event as requested and scheduled). As a Barista, you are responsible for preparing and serving coffee and other beverages to customers. Other duties include help taking orders, making drinks, and providing timely service to customers, as well as a room service delivery component. Must have Sunday and Monday availability.

Requirements

  • Previous server, barista & bartending experience a plus
  • Food Handlers Certificate (Required)
  • Must have tips certification and meet state law age requirements for tending bar
  • High School or GED required
  • Must have Sunday & Monday availability.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • Hotels operate 24/7 therefore schedules may at times fluctuate based on the needs of the business.
  • Standing, walking, bending, stretching, twist, or lifting as much as 25lbs. throughout your scheduled shift and at times as much as 45lbs. or more (tables, kegs, chairs).
  • Always in uniform and well-groomed with name badge and required pins.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers take their orders and use excellent time management and organizational skills to prepare and serve drinks.
  • Prepare specialized drinks per company recipe guidelines.
  • Address and resolve customer issues in a polite and effective manner; enlist manager or shift supervisor as necessary.
  • Timing the service of courses corresponds with the dining pace of the guests.
  • Replenish beverages when necessary and check with guests to make sure they are satisfied.
  • Handle an assigned house bank and follow all cash handling procedures as per hotel standard.
  • Comply with all food and beverage regulations.
  • Assist with inventory and inventory control.
  • Carry out tasks with attention to detail, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Understand the operation of the POS system.
  • Maintains presence behind the bar.
  • Have full knowledge and understanding of the menus.
  • Mixing, garnishing, and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to company specifications.
  • Adhere to all local and national liquor laws.
  • Check identification of customers to verify they are of legal drinking age.
  • Ensure clean glasses, bar equipment, and working areas.
  • Order and restock as needed.
  • Balance the cash register at the start and close of each shift.
  • As part of the bar, we proudly serve Starbucks hot and cold beverages.
  • Starbucks training will be provided.
