About The Position

The Server is responsible for providing attentive, knowledgeable, and personalized service to guests while upholding Kaluz’s standards of hospitality. Servers act as ambassadors of the brand by ensuring guests feel welcomed, informed about menu offerings, and cared for throughout their dining experience. This role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in an upscale, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Previous serving experience in an upscale or high-volume restaurant preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of wine, cocktails, and food pairings (training provided).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor in line with Kaluz’s standards.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent carrying and lifting of trays up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to move quickly and safely through crowded spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests promptly and warmly, establishing a positive dining experience from the start.
  • Present menus, explain features, and answer questions with detailed knowledge of food, wine, and cocktails.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them correctly into the POS system.
  • Ensure timely and coordinated delivery of food and beverages to tables.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction, anticipate needs, and resolve issues professionally.
  • Follow Kaluz’s service sequence and hospitality standards.
  • Work closely with runners, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned sections and service stations.
  • Handle guest payments accurately, following all cash handling and credit card procedures.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including restocking and side work.
  • Uphold Kaluz’s image of professionalism, refinement, and consistency.
  • Maintain knowledge of all menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
  • Suggest food and beverage pairings to enhance the guest experience.
  • Support teammates by helping other sections when needed.
