About The Position

Heartwood, a senior living community in Crosby, MN, is hiring Servers. Come be part of the Heartwood team and help to enrich the lives and touch the hearts of older adults. Schedule: Casual, union position. Minimum requirement is at least three shifts per month with one shift being a weekend shift. Pay: $17.95 - $20.59 depending on experience. 401K retirement plan with company contribution, employee assistance program and earned sick and safe time. The Server is responsible for creating a high-quality dining experience for customers by assisting with meal preparation, dining room preparation, and meal service consistent with regulations and established policies, procedures and best practices

Requirements

  • Previous experience in food service, commercial housekeeping, or janitorial field preferred.
  • Effective interpersonal relationship skills including good listening and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and appropriately.
  • Ability to adapt resources to meet the needs of the situation.
  • Exercises good judgment, flexibility, creativity, and insight to problem solving.
  • Demonstrated compatibility with Heartwood's mission and operating philosophies.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing, storing, recording and serving meals, beverages and snacks for residents/customers based upon resident requests, regulations, established polices procedures and best practices.
  • Clean dishes, equipment and work area according to established procedures and schedules.
  • Complete job responsibilities as assigned and in a reasonable amount of time.
  • Maintain a sanitary and safe work environment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to safely and effectively use all needed equipment.
  • Create a positive dining experience for residents that promotes their independence, choice and overall well-being.
  • Encourage resident participation in the dining program, and meal activities.
  • Set and clear dining tables, assist residents with menu selection, meal and beverage service, and clean the dining room according to established procedures and schedules.
  • Assist with receiving, stocking, maintaining and tracking food and supplies.
  • Demonstrate good stewardship of available resources (supplies, utilities, time).
  • Take initiative; use imagination and creativity in problem solving; broaden perspective beyond your own environment; recommend solutions; handle challenges, changes and job pressures competently and positively; demonstrate patience, flexibility and adaptability.
