About The Position

The Restaurant Server is responsible for providing excellent customer service by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring that guests have a positive dining experience. Servers are expected to maintain a friendly and professional demeanor, be knowledgeable about the menu, and work efficiently to meet the needs of customers.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a customer service or restaurant role is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
  • Basic math skills for handling cash and processing payments.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Positive attitude and commitment to providing excellent service.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests as they arrive and provide them with menus.
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests, ensuring accuracy and understanding of customer preferences.
  • Communicate orders to kitchen staff and ensure timely and accurate delivery of food and beverages.
  • Serve food and drinks to guests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Check on guests during their meal to ensure satisfaction and address any needs or concerns.
  • Answer questions about the menu, ingredients, and preparation methods.
  • Suggest menu items and upsell food and beverages to enhance the guest experience.
  • Prepare tables for service, including setting silverware, napkins, and condiments.
  • Clear and clean tables after guests finish their meals, reset for the next guests.
  • Handle cash, process payments, and provide change accurately.
  • Maintain knowledge of daily specials, promotions, and menu changes.
  • Collaborate with other restaurant staff to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
  • Handle guest complaints or concerns in a calm and professional manner, escalating to management when necessary.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, such as stocking supplies, cleaning, and organizing the dining area.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
