About The Position

HOUSEpitality Restaurants: Boathouse, Casa del Barco, Island Shrimp Co. and Can Can Brasserie Welcome to The HOUSEpitality Family! We are the restaurant group who owns and operates all Boathouse, Casa del Barco, Island Shrimp Co. and Can Can Brasserie locations in and around Richmond, VA. Our Guests come to us to Celebrate Life one bit at a time with great views, unique character, and delicious food! We are looking for passionate professionals that want to provide exceptional service while having fun and making money. Flexible in-store training. PTO accrual starts on day one! The Server will provide high-quality service that will help maintain and attract customers. The Server will have a positive attitude and the ability to work well under pressure with all other staff. Main responsibilities will be providing great service to our external guests.

Requirements

Positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with all co-workers
Able to perform high-quality work
Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system (Toast)
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver orders in a timely manner
Servers must have prior experience
Servers must be at least 18
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Must be able to go up and down stairs
The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Must be willing to work weekends and holidays
Great communication and listening skills
Ability to follow directions

Responsibilities

Exceptional communication skills; engaging with internal and external guests
Working on a ‘Toast Goes’ handheld to take and input orders
Knowledge of the menu and an ability to make recommendations and upsell
Ensure guests are enjoying the service and the ability to take action to correct any problems as needed
Collect and process payments
Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff
Work through complaints or problems with a positive attitude
Proper attention to cleanliness and safety
Additional duties as assigned
