About The Position

Server/ Waiter responsibilities include greeting and serving members/guest, providing detailed information on menus, and multi-tasking various front-of-the-house duties. Job Functions Previous experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry preferred. Take food and drink orders from members/guest accurately and with a positive attitude. Engage with members/guest in a friendly manner. Knowledge of the menu, with the ability to make suggestions. Ensure tables are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems. Help members/guest select food and beverages by presenting menu; offering cocktails; suggesting courses; explaining the chef's specialties; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items, etc. Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs. Properly open and pour wine at the tableside. Basic understanding of beer, wine, spirits, and sake preferred. Where applicable, holds a state and/or local food handlers card. Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor. Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to lift 40 lbs. Ability to work long hours, evenings, holidays, and weekends. Ability to remain on feet the majority of the workday. Education and Experience Previous experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry preferred. Have 2+years of serving or related experience in a full-service restaurant Have a current food handler’s card and alcohol service certification as required by federal/state/local law Meet minimum age for preparing and serving alcoholic beverages Have basic knowledge of food and beverage service/hospitality Have Excellent customer service skills High school diploma or GED
