About The Position

The Server position at The Vineyards | California Armenian Home involves providing exceptional dining service to residents in a senior living community. The role requires a commitment to warm hospitality and compassionate care, ensuring that residents receive timely and courteous meal service while adhering to dietary needs and sanitation standards. Requirements

• At least one year of experience in an assisted living community preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress.
• Neat and clean appearance.
• Knowledge of general sanitary and safety practices.
• Helpful attitude and friendly demeanor.
• Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed.
• Two years of food service experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in an assisted living community or long-term care setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greets all residents in a warm, sincere, and helpful manner.
• Takes orders and serves meals and beverages promptly and courteously.
• Delivers room trays when needed.
• Communicates with residents and supervisors about dietary needs and restrictions and stays aware of diet changes.
• Portions and plates any salad or dessert items to be served during the meal service.
• Helps educate/train new staff members.
• Ensures that work areas are clean and that equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored.
• Follows safety and sanitation rules and practices.
• Helps bus and set tables and performs side-work as needed.
• Cleans floors and removes trash.
• Cleans work areas and all equipment used in food preparation.
• Clears tables of used dishes, glasses, and silverware during mealtimes.
• Ensures a proper supply of clean dishware, utensils, and glassware to stock the dining areas and set tables.
• Helps with dining room service when needed (pouring beverages, etc.).
• Attends required team meetings.
