About The Position

The MCR standard is to provide clean, friendly, well-organized and safe hotels for our guests, focusing on Happy Guests, Spotless Cleanliness, Product Consistency & Quality, and Teamwork. The Server is responsible for providing prompt, friendly, and accurate food service, including taking food and beverage orders, serving items, and processing payments. MCR is the 3rd-largest hotel owner-operator in the United States, founded in 2006 with offices in New York City, Dallas, Chicago, and Richmond, Virginia. Requirements

  • Experience in a hospitality, service, consumer-facing franchise or related field is preferred.
  • Possess a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow instructions, assigned tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Consistently provide friendly service with a smile to guests.
  • Flexible schedule with availability for days, nights, holidays, and weekends based on hotel demands.
  • Adhere to strict punctuality for shifts, clocking in and out on time, and never working while clocked out.
  • Clock in/out for breaks at designated times.
  • Provide sufficient notice for calling out a scheduled shift as directed by supervisor.
  • Ability to stand for sustained periods.
  • Ability to walk for long distances or between work sites.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions of wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Ability to lift and carry laundry supplies, linens, and other items.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests happily upon arrival and throughout their stay with a smile, using their names whenever possible.
  • Contribute to great guest satisfaction scores and handle challenging guest situations with hospitality and urgency.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of hotel facilities, amenities, groups, and events.
  • Understand and utilize relevant technology for the role.
  • Answer all incoming calls with friendly service using the approved greeting.
  • Maintain sparkling clean and well-organized workspaces, including pitching in to clean guest rooms and public spaces as needed.
  • Complete all operational checklists accurately and on time.
  • Ensure accurate and timely shift handover reports.
  • Adhere to uniform and grooming standards as per the Team Member Handbook, including wearing a nametag and smiling.
  • Communicate clearly, honestly, and professionally with team members.
  • Be willing to stretch beyond traditional role to meet business and guest needs.
  • Collaborate with all team members to create a welcoming and effective workplace.
  • Provide prompt, friendly, and accurate food service to guests.
  • Give clear and correct descriptions of food and beverage options.
  • Deliver hot to order items from kitchen to tables.
  • Input orders into the computer (POS system) and secure accurate payment.
  • Prepare coffee and other specialized drinks (Barista duties).
  • Clear, clean, and reset tables for dining.
  • Observe diners and respond to requests.
  • Complete daily inventory prep sheet and other allowable side work.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and familiarity of current food and beverage offerings.
  • Escort guests to tables as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and handling policies and procedures (product rotation, dating, labeling, cleaning).
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant and surrounding areas.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of hotel hours and available amenities.
