About The Position

The MCR standard is to provide clean, friendly, well-organized and safe hotels for our guests. The company emphasizes Happy Guests, Spotless Cleanliness, Product Consistency & Quality, and Teamwork. The Server is responsible for providing prompt, friendly, & accurate food service to our guests. This person will take food and beverage orders, serve food items to guests, and complete payment for guest orders.

Requirements

  • Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow instructions, assigned tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to always provide friendly service with a smile to guests.
  • Flexible schedule with availability days, nights, holidays, and weekend based on the demands of the hotel.
  • Must arrive and clock in on time for every shift worked and clock out at the scheduled shift ending time, unless otherwise directed by your immediate manager.
  • Never work while clocked out.
  • Must clock in/out for breaks at the designated time on your schedule.
  • Must provide sufficient notice as directed by your supervisor when calling out for a scheduled shift.
  • Ability to remain upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time (Standing).
  • Ability to move about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another (Walking).
  • Ability to make substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers (Repetitive Motions).
  • Ability to carry certain laundry supplies, linens and other items (Lifting).
  • Ability to read, write, understand and communicate with others effectively using the English language.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests happily upon arrival and throughout their stay with a smile.
  • Use the guests’ names whenever possible, ensuring they feel properly welcomed.
  • Work together to contribute to great guest satisfaction scores.
  • Handle challenging guest situations with hospitality and a sense of urgency.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of all features of the hotel facility and amenities.
  • Be aware of and support all groups and events at the hotel.
  • Understand relevant technology for the role.
  • Answer all incoming calls with friendly service using the approved greeting.
  • Keep all areas, both front and back of the house, clean and well-organized.
  • Assist in cleaning guest rooms and public spaces as needed, to ensure the hotel is well-organized and safe.
  • Greet every guest happily with a smile, by name if possible, while cleaning.
  • Complete all operational checklists accurately and at the designated times, every shift.
  • Ensure handover reports are accurate and on time, for effective shift-to-shift communication.
  • Wear a clean, approved uniform and be well-groomed per the Team Member Handbook, while wearing a nametag and smiling at all times.
  • Communicate clearly, honestly, and professionally with Team Members.
  • Be willing to stretch beyond traditional role to meet the needs of the business and MCR’s guests.
  • Work collaboratively to create a welcoming environment for guests and an effective, positive workplace.
  • Greet guests and give a clear and correct description of food and beverage options.
  • Deliver hot to order items from kitchen to tables.
  • Input orders into computer and secure accurate payment.
  • Prepare coffee as well as other specialized drinks.
  • Clear, clean, and reset tables for dining as needed.
  • Observe diners and respond to requests.
  • Complete daily inventory prep sheet and other side work allowable by labor rules.
  • Maintain knowledge and familiarity of current food and beverage offerings.
  • Escort guests to tables as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and handling policies and procedures, i.e., product rotation, dating, labeling, and cleaning.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant and surrounding areas.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of hours and available amenities of the hotel.
