The primary purpose of this position is to provide food and beverage service to club members and guests.

Responsibilities

• Performs and completes assigned side work tasks for opening and closing procedures to ensure smooth operation and services.
• Processes food and beverage checks for payment daily to ensure accurate reconciliation.
• Coordinates food service involving communication between the kitchen and other staff to ensure prompt and accurate service.
• Follows sanitation requirements, safety, accident and emergency policies and procedures as sanctions to ensure compliance with all state, local and Club laws.
• Provides immediate attention and service to members and guests to ensure a quality dining experience.
• Turns orders into kitchen; tells cooks about any special requests and cooking instructions.
• Assembles food on tray; procures items from each station as necessary.
• Serves the meals; places dishes by course in front of each person; services from the left of the person.
• Checks back from time to time to ensure member or guest satisfaction; replenishes water and butter as necessary.
• Removes soiled dishes when members and guests are finished eating.
• Suggests and serves dessert, coffee, etc.
• Verifies accuracy of prices, state and federal taxes, tips and all other charges on their checks.
• Presents the bills.
• Handles all cash and credit cards as applicable from guests' and members' charges as prescribed by standard operating procedures.
• Keeps tables, dining room and bus station clean.
• Advises supervisor of any complaints as soon as they occur.
• Performs clean-up and closing duties as assigned by their manager.
• Attends pre-meal meetings as requested by the Food & Beverage Manager.
• Turns in signed tip declaration forms daily (where applicable).
• Assists other servers in their tasks as needed.
• Assists in carrying food trays to tables as needed.
• Sets and resets the tables with silverware, glassware, clean linen and placemats when necessary. Makes sure that all chairs are neatly aligned with the table.
• Stocks the server's station with supplies.
• Collects trash from dining room, grille room and other specified places after each serving period.
• Keeps ice bins and buckets filled.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested by supervisors/managers.

Requirements

• Must be friendly, personable and reliable.
• Must be able to lift a tray weighing approximately 10-15 pounds and balance.
• Must be aware and trained in food service.
• Must be able to take orders and properly deliver to appropriate table(s).
• Must be able to walk, stand, sit, stoop or bend for duration of shift [at least (8) hours].
• Must be familiar with the club's food menu and be able to explain entrees to members and guests at their request.
• Must possess Food Handler Certification within 30 days of hire.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior experience in a private club and/or resort is preferred.
