About The Position

The position involves working as a bartender in a dynamic environment where customer service and beverage knowledge are paramount. The bartender will be responsible for mixing traditional and creative cocktails, verifying customer identification and age, processing payments, and maintaining cleanliness of bar utensils. Building rapport with regular customers and making suggestions based on their tastes and preferences are key aspects of the role. The bartender will also handle cash receipts, prepare deposits, and assist with various tasks to ensure smooth operations during their shift.

Requirements

  • Entry level bartending experience required.
  • One year minimum of customer service experience preferably within the Food & Beverage industry.
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly motivated and flexible, possessing the ability to take initiative.
  • Flexible schedule, able to work mornings, nights, holidays and weekends.
  • Experience in a luxury world-class hotel or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Verify identification and age requirements of customers.
  • Mix traditional and creative cocktails.
  • Process payment from customers.
  • Clean glasses and bar utensils.
  • Make suggestions based on customer tastes and preferences.
  • Record and balance cash receipts and prepare cash deposits.
  • Open and maintain tabs throughout their shift.
  • Build a rapport with regular customers to create a positive atmosphere.
  • Receive and take guest orders and process in a timely manner through whatever systems are currently used in the restaurant.
  • Prepare and serve meal accompaniments to guests.
  • Perform side work.
  • Open bottled wine for guests.
  • Bus and set tables, as needed.
  • Perform set up and breakdown of various stations (i.e., deli, dessert, coffee, espresso).
  • Assist with orders to go, as needed.
  • Seat guests and help with answering phones as business demands.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must have food and wine knowledge for pairing suggestions.
  • Upsell established menu items or specials to maximize food and beverage revenues.
  • Communicate with support crew and management.
