About The Position
Avvio is looking for a Server to join the team. Our approachable, yet traditional menu features classic Italian dishes, Neapolitan pizzas, and wood-fire grilled entrees that use ingredients sourced locally and directly from Italy. Located in the heart of Garden City Center, this restaurant is a favorite among the locals! Avvio is proud to be part of the Newport Restaurant Group. In the Server role, you will be interacting with guests, taking orders, and serving meals in the dining area. You will be responsible for presenting the menu, answering questions, and making suggestions regarding food and service. You will also record orders in the POS system, relay orders to the kitchen, and serve courses from the kitchen/service bars. Observing diners to respond to any additional requests is essential, as is totaling bills and accepting payments. Throughout your shift, you will need to maintain composure and a hospitable nature with guests and other staff members. We are looking for energetic, highly motivated individuals who have a passion for hospitality and a natural ability to please our guests. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess excellent multitasking skills, and be willing to work as part of a team. Qualifications for this position include a minimum of 2 years of previous fine dining server experience, a flexible schedule to work during days, nights, weekends, and some holidays as needed, and holding an Alcohol Safety Certification. Additionally, candidates must be able to stand for long periods and lift and move 25-50 pounds. Collaboration and respect in the workplace are also key attributes we seek in our team members.
