About The Position

The Valley Hotel, located in Homewood, Alabama, is seeking a Food Runner / Server Assistant for Ironwood, a restaurant within the hotel. Requirements

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Six months to 1 year in a food/beverage services environment or establishment.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
• Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
• Manual coordination to punch buttons, grasp items, and carry containers and trays loaded with food and liquids.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to lift, push, and carry 20 - 40 lbs.
• Ability to stand continuously for long periods of time.
• Ability to communicate information and hotel services to management, staff, and guests.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food to guests in a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable manner.
• Act as a liaison between front of house staff and back of house staff to ensure smooth food delivery.
• Coordinate food orders to guarantee timely and efficient delivery to guests.
• Maintain knowledge of all ingredient details for each dish on the menu.
• Communicate clearly with the kitchen and front of house staff.
• Refill water and periodically check on guests to handle any issues promptly.
• Maintain high food safety and sanitation standards.
• Clean and reset tables.
