Pomperaug Woods is recruiting for a hospitality focused Sever to join our culinary team! This role provides full-scope, hands on serving functions within the community. Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Dining Room Server: Sets tables and maintains workstations in proper order. Takes orders, provides service and requested items both graciously and courteously. Clears dishes from tables during and after meal service. Ensures that all dining areas at maintained and kept in clean and sanitary condition. Completes all assigned side work such as filling salt and pepper shakers, sugar/creamers, ice bins, making coffee, maintaining waitstaff stations, etc. Restocks buffet tables as well as juice and coffee stations. Answers pertinent questions about menu items. Other Duties : Assists in maintaining a high level of customer service for our residents and their guests. Assists with dish washing and distribution of clean dishes if needed. Maintains safe and sanitary conditions in work areas. Maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code. Completes all assigned cleaning tasks. Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned. Assists in restocking buffet tables. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS : Experience waiting tables in a hotel, restaurant or club with fine dining preferred; will train. Experience in a long-term care community or hospital setting preferred; will train. Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understands requests. Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers. Requires courtesy, tact and graciousness. Must read, write, and speak English fluently.
