St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a Server Administrator for the Management of Information Systems Department (MIS) which is located in beautiful St. Augustine, Florida. Management of Information Systems (MIS) is a General Services Department which is responsible for providing technology services and support to the Board of County Commissioners as well as services to the Clerk of Courts, Court Administration, St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office and Tax Collector’s Office. Some of those services include supporting primarily Microsoft Servers providing various servers such as Windows File, Print, Web, Microsoft Exchange, Remote Desktop Services and SQL servers. The County uses VMware for virtualization and has solutions for Mobile Device Management (MDM) and multi-factor authentication. The MIS Department supports approximately 1,500 end users with various devices – desktops, laptops, tablets, Toughbooks, printers and cell phones. MIS has various physical server hardware including Storage Array Network (SAN) storage, Disk-to-Disk Backup Storage and other server hardware. Employees work in a team-oriented environment in order to provide the best services they can to a wide spectrum of County personnel. This position is part of the Server Administrator Team which configures and supports the various servers and implements systems with other team members. Requirements

Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/ internship or having had a similar position for minimum two years.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license and any other endorsements necessary to legally operate vehicles used while assigned to this position.
Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills to serve others.
Must be able to comprehend, speak and write the English language.
Must be able to operate a computer.
Knowledge of current information technology trends and solutions.
Knowledge of the administration, installation, maintenance, upgrade and operation of computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
Knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications and services
Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions.
Skill in the preparation of clear and precise administrative reports.
Skill in oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

Installs operating systems, high end application software, patches and upgrades such as, but not limited to, email, mobile device mgt, web services, web content filtering
Assist in administration of Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Teams, and other applications.
Perform user account provisioning and de-provisioning, including setting up and managing user roles, permissions, and licenses.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Microsoft 365 applications and services.
Analyzes, troubleshoots, and resolves system hardware, software, and networking issues at the server and workstation levels.
Configures, optimizes, and monitors operating systems, applications, and servers.
Performs system back-ups and recovery.
Conducts server and system builds as required
Maintains and updates equipment documentation.
Develop and maintain process documentation.
Troubleshoots and repairs servers, computers, scanners, printers, and other peripheral equipment.
Installs and supports software applications, including operating systems, in-house applications, and third-party applications.
Prepares and configures new computers and equipment for deployment.
Coordinates departmental software upgrades and installation.
Terminates and tests network cables.
Coordinates the relocation of computers and related equipment.
Maintains a full-time presence on the job.
Performs other duties as assigned.
