Purpose and Scope Delivers at a high level of competency in school safety and security for the school district. Responsibilities require understanding of both theory and practice. Essential Job Functions 1.Serves as a first line supervisor for the Mobile Security Officer and maintains staff attendance records.2.Works with school administrators to ensure process, procedures and district policies are followed. 3.Reviews all paperwork submitted by Mobile Security Officers and ensures that the documentation is correct.4.Works collaboratively with the Criminal Investigative Manager on analyzing data and crimes within the school district and make recommendation. 5.Monitors and Inspects Mobile Security Officers? equipment and vehicles on a daily basis.6.Monitors Mobile Security Officers in the school and on patrol. 7.Responds to school site with problems and expected to make the best decision regarding the safety and security for the students and the employees of Shelby County Schools.8.Works collaboratively with other State, Local and Federal Law Enforcement Agencies.9.Conduct a preliminary investigation and communicate that information in a clear, precise and chronological order to management team.10.Works variable shifts, days off, weekend and holidays, if needed.11.Ensures that the Laws of the State of Tennessee are followed in the proper manner when crime is committed on school campus.12.Monitors and supervises the mobile security officers assigned to all athletic and after-hour events at schools locations.13.Identifies and reports critical information to the Criminal Investigative Manager immediately.14.Performs other related duties as assigned or directed. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in relevant area, or equivalent, 4 years relevant experience. Must have successfully completed a Law Enforcement Training Academy in the State of Tennessee. Must possess firearm certification. Two (2) years of experience working as a Shelby County Schools Mobile Security Officer preferred. DEGREE EQUIVALENCY FORMULA: Bachelors Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience. Masters Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master's degrees are required, years for Bachelor's Degrees must be included.
