About The Position

Peak’s Separator Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of high‑ and low‑pressure separator vessels and associated production equipment. Under general supervision, this position ensures separators are safe, compliant, and functioning properly to support efficient well operations. The role requires a strong focus on safety, mechanical integrity, and accurate documentation while working in field environments.The Separator Technician supports quality control and safe operations during all aspects of separator installation, maintenance, testing, and operation.

Requirements

  • Previous field experience working with high‑ and low‑pressure vessels or production equipment preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair separator components.
  • Knowledge of pressure testing procedures and safe handling of pressurized systems.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems related to production equipment.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in an environment with changing priorities.
  • Commitment to safe work practices and attention to detail.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible to drive a company vehicle in accordance with Peak’s insurance guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot high‑ and low‑pressure separators and associated components to identify and resolve mechanical, pressure, or operational issues.
  • Repair, replace, and function‑test valves, pressure relief devices, gauges, and related separator instrumentation.
  • Perform pressure testing on separators and components in accordance with company procedures, customer requirements, and applicable safety standards.
  • Rebuild separator components, including internals, valve assemblies, and fittings as required.
  • Flush, clean, and prepare separators to ensure proper operation and compliance with job specifications.
  • Perform minor electrical work related to separator controls, sensors, or monitoring equipment, as authorized and trained.
  • Inspect vessels and components for wear, damage, or safety concerns and report findings appropriately.
  • Prepare, maintain, and submit accurate daily documentation, including maintenance logs, pressure test records, and job‑specific reports.
  • Draft and maintain a thorough and accurate Job Safety Analysis (JSA) identifying job tasks, associated hazards, and mitigation measures.
  • Properly and consistently update the JSA as job conditions or scopes change.
  • Observe all safety rules at all times, including keeping work areas and vehicles clean and free of safety hazards.
  • Coordinate and/or participate in rigging up and rigging down separators and related equipment.
  • Prepare equipment for jobs, including inspection, maintenance, and load‑out.
  • Communicate clearly during shift changes, including detailed handover notes on equipment status and outstanding issues.
  • Work effectively as part of a team and remain receptive to guidance and feedback from supervisors and peers.
