About the position

The SEO Content Specialist is a hands-on role focused on creating content and implementing SEO strategies to improve search engine rankings for both in-house properties and clients. This position requires a blend of technical SEO skills and marketing acumen to develop effective content that drives organic traffic and engagement. The specialist will work within a CMS (WordPress) and collaborate with internal teams and external clients to achieve growth objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage SEO research and optimization skills to create excellent SEO research and landing page content.
  • Adapt writing to meet the needs and sensibilities of different clients.
  • Become a subject matter expert in the relevant field to create engaging original SEO content.
  • Conduct keyword research using various tools based on client goals and KPIs.
  • Identify landing pages for established keywords and opportunities.
  • Optimize websites for search engines, including meta data elements, structured data, and content recommendations.
  • Provide strategic content recommendations and execute on SEO strategies daily.
  • Create and analyze monthly client reports and provide competitive insights.
  • Pull relevant program data from analytics platforms such as Google Analytics and Looker/Google Data Studio.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in SEO with a proven track record.
  • Excellent keyword research skills.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong background in content strategy and copywriting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of SEO principles and best practices.
  • Ability to conduct thorough keyword research and incorporate keywords strategically into content.
  • Proven track record of producing high-quality website content and blog posts that drive organic traffic and engagement.
  • Experience with WordPress or similar CMS platforms; Elementor is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and how technologies like JavaScript can affect SEO.
  • Good understanding of UX principles.
  • Strong knowledge of tools like SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and Screaming Frog.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with offsite SEO and developing outreach strategies for link acquisition.
