Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer (T-02) / Principal Systems Engineer (T-03). This position is located in Huntsville, Alabama and supports the Sentinel program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
  • Must have a current or ability to obtain and maintain a Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
  • For Systems Engineer level (T-02): Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of experience, 0 years of experience with a Master's degree; Minimum 1 year of experience with MBSE tools
  • For Principal Systems Engineer level (T-03): Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related experience; 3 years experience with a Master of Science degree; 1 year experience with a PhD; Minimum 2 years of experience with MBSE tools

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of experience with ICBM Weapon Systems
  • Experience with any of the following tools and languages: DOORS, Cameo, MagicDraw, UML, SysML
  • 5 years of experience in Systems Engineering and any of the following areas: Requirements Management, Systems and end item requirements validation and verification, Systems Design, Systems Architecture, Systems Integration, N2 Analysis, Trade Studies
  • General knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines: Safety, Nuclear Hardness, Nuclear Surety, Material Science, Environmental, Parts and Logistics

Responsibilities

  • Perform requirements analysis, develop source data for requirements, generate requirements verification, and help prepare test plans and procedures
  • Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for mechanical, electrical and integrated systems
  • Create and maintain SysML and UPDM models in Cameo EA; interface with subject matter experts, analysts, architects, designers, system engineers and specialty engineers to capture Payload Systems GBSD structure and behavior using accurate UPDM/SysML representations according to OMG standards
  • Apply the principles of engineering to design components and systems using applicable standards and specifications
  • Verify specifications and designs through modeling and simulation, test data processing, and performance analysis
  • Support all phases of the systems lifecycle including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
