About The Position

BAE Systems is seeking an exceptional systems engineering intern for an exciting opportunity to support the Air Force's acquisition of the next generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM), the Sentinel weapon system. This systems engineer will work with a highly skilled team providing critical weapon systems engineering support to the U.S. Air Force. The selected candidate will be working towards a Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering from an ABET accredited program, or Mathematics or Physics and a desire to work with system requirements, system interfaces, specialty engineering support and requirements verification for a complex weapon system. The candidate must possess proficiency in communicating technical concepts to a broad audience, both orally and written. Examples of project management during formal education is expected to be presented during the interview. The strongest candidates will have completed coursework in systems engineering. Requirements

  • Working towards a Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering from an ABET accredited program, or Mathematics or Physics.
  • Proactive person with a positive attitude and a “team player” mentality.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance and all required Special Program accesses. The criteria for obtaining clearance is set by the US Government. You must be a US Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Active DOD Secret Clearance or higher is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with requirements software like IBM DOORS.
  • Experience with MBSE software like Cameo or Rhapsody.
  • Coursework in systems engineering.
  • Completed internship in an engineering facility.
  • Examples of technical writing proficiency.
  • Examples of technical oral presentation experience.
  • Examples of project management skills.
