About The Position

The Software Engineer position at Northrop Grumman involves supporting the Sentinel program through software design, development, and testing. The role requires collaboration with hardware engineers and lab testers to ensure software meets test requirements, as well as the generation of engineering documentation. The successful candidate will engage in software integration, regression, and verification testing, contributing to innovative solutions in defense systems.

Requirements

• 2 years of experience with a Bachelor's in a relevant field, 1 year with a Master's, or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree.
• Active DoD Secret clearance with a re-investigation date occurring in the last 6 years.
• Experience with back-end development and object-oriented programming.

Nice To Haves

• STEM degree in a software-related field.
• Experience in software development in C/C++, Python, Linux, and object-oriented programming concepts.
• Experience with AGILE Software development processes.
• Experience with Atlassian Tools such as Jira, Confluence, Git/GitLab, etc.
• Knowledge of test concepts: automation, data capture, reporting.
• Security+ (or higher) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Support element level software coding and development.
• Design, develop, and unit test software code.
• Collaborate with software engineers, hardware engineers, and lab testers to ensure test requirements are met.
• Develop and release engineering documentation.
• Perform Model Based System Engineering data analysis against requirements and interfaces for each software build.
• Interface with Hardware-In-The-Loop testers and systems engineers in support of verification.
• Conduct software integration, regression, and verification testing including checkout in system test labs.
• Generate CDRLs, software design description documents, and diagrams.
