Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal / Sr Principal Data Scientist. This is position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel program.

  • Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of relevant experience; Master's Degree with 3 years' experience; PhD with 1 year experience or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree for Principal Data Scientist.
  • Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of relevant experience; Master's Degree with 6 years' experience; PhD with 4 year experience or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree for Sr. Principal Data Scientist.
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application with an investigation completed within the last 6 years.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company to meet its business need.
  • Experience managing and maintaining SQL databases.
  • Experience in defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to business and engineering analytics.
  • Expertise in developing and managing ETL processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python programming for data analysis, manipulation, and automation.
  • Proficient in using version control systems such as Git for collaborative development.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies for project management.
  • Strong communication skills to present findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Experience with integrating disparate data sets at a large-scale enterprise.
  • Strong Experience in publishing, maintaining, and managing Tableau reports on Tableau Server.
  • Capability to bridge the gap between business requirements and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google cloud) and their data services.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for data science deployment.
  • Proficiency in applying advanced statistical methods and machine learning techniques.
  • Experience in performing predictive and prescriptive analytics.
