Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Systems Engineering PSS Manager 2. This position can be located in Huntsville, AL or Colorado Springs, CO and supports the Sentinel program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

  • Lead the systems engineering execution as the main focal point for the C&L product team for C2 PSS.
  • Manage the day to day operations of the PSS Integrated Node team.
  • Lead the implementation of the processes dictating requirements development, verification activities, use cases, and architecture development.
  • Work with both the C2 and C&L Product Development teams to develop and mature systems engineering content and artifacts using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methods.
  • Oversee and manage the PSS team and lead the coordination and collaboration across the diverse C&L engineering design teams to manage the technical baseline.
  • Present at milestone reviews to program leadership and to the customer.
  • Proactively coordinate with various teams to develop, document, and maintain design solutions.
  • Provide career mentorship and operational support to a Functional Home Room (FHR) team of between 8 and 12 Individual Contributors (ICs).
  • Spend roughly 20% of effort on Functional Homeroom responsibilities and 80% on technical assignment as the Physical Security Lead for C2 Product Engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 8 years of related experience.
  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application.
  • Experience managing people preferred.
  • Master's degree in Engineering.
  • Experience with ICBM systems.
  • Previous experience leading technical teams.
  • General understanding of NG Engineering Processes.
  • Experience in training and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Experience in MBSE methodology.
  • Experience with Agile framework.
  • Minimum 1 year of demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • 1 year of experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles and application or as a Cost Account Manager (CAM).
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • At the time of application a current and within scope Sentinel Special Access Program (SAP).
