About The Position
We have an opportunity for a part-time Intern in Sensory Science to join the Science & Research team based in San Diego, CA. Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences preferred, including Chemistry, Food Science, Biology, or related science(s)
- Candidates must be available to work an average of 20 hours weekly within work hours 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday; scheduling can be flexible
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office; ability to learn internal software programs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people
- Ideal candidate will be eager, energetic, reliable and self-motivated and ability to work independently
Responsibilities
- Prepares samples using analytical balances and dilutions
- Executes sensory testing and collects data
- Analyzes results and makes recommendations
- Prepares lab areas for taste testing
- Sample testing including density and pH measurements
- Refines and works with SOP’s
- Adheres to all safety, scientific record keeping, and compliance requirements
- Performs other duties as assigned
