About The Position

Guide perfumers with developing, evaluating, and adjusting both new and existing fragrances. Develop and evaluate fragrances that meet organization standards and customer needs. Analyze current fragrance trends and evaluates products of competitors. Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to assess consumer preferences and customer requirements. Maintain full awareness and comply with regulations associated with fragrance development. Performs sensory evaluations of raw materials, intermediate and finished products, making pass/fail decisions while working independently and on a team with other Sensory Evaluators.

Requirements

  • Degree in Chemistry/Biology/Food Science or related field with 1-3 years of previous experience in the food industry.
  • Technical degree and/or experience is a sufficient replacement for educational degree.
  • English fluency
  • Ability to describe accurately sensory characteristics
  • Computer skills (SAP, Microsoft Office, etc.)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and investigate sensory differences.
  • Ability to enter OOS results in SAP and enter nonconformance notifications.
  • Ability to communicate and advise sensory findings to affiliated groups within the company.
  • Decision making based on test results.
  • Must be able to taste and smell a variety of products.
  • General physical demands – lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling – 25kg~50kg.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates product, raw materials and finished goods, according to specified taste methods and determines acceptability (50%)
  • Manages, prepares, and administers one or more structured customer specific sensory programs. Communicate results and work together with Creative team (15%)
  • Operates, maintains, and organizes sensory programs and data (10%)
  • Maintain retain and Gold Standard libraries (10%)
  • Assist in the investigation of root cause as issues arise (5%)
  • Perform Analytical testing as needed (5%)
  • Customer communication for Shelf Life and Recertifications. (5%)
