We are looking for a Sensory and Lab Technician in 5507 Blue Lagoon Dr, Miami, FL 33126 USA.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 1-3 years experience as a technician or a combination of education and work experience indicating an ability to effectively perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel).
  • Knowledge of general safety practices, and food service or food technology.
  • Ability to work with others as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills in both oral and written forms.
  • Ability to compose quality written materials and effectively present information to other members of staff.
  • Physical ability to climb ladders, frequently lift, carry and/or push light to heavy materials, as well as stand and walk most of the day.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Record incoming products, label products, and place in the appropriate storage locations.
  • Assure that equipment and work areas are scheduled and available for product evaluations.
  • Independently prepare for panel orientation sessions, including preparation of paperwork, physical measurements and cookouts, and purchasing and labeling of samples and references.
  • Prepare products, paperwork, label samples, prepare serving materials and computer files for product evaluations in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Administer and serve product evaluations to ensure panels are conducted error free.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe and well-organized working environment and maintains adequate supplies.
  • Work as a team with Division staff to accomplish position and business objectives.
  • Other tasks as assigned which may include grocery shopping, cleaning cooking equipment and/or product storage areas, packaging and shipping products to clients.
  • Assist with data management and reporting for testing conducted.
  • Identify departures from the management system or from the procedures for performing tests, and to initiate actions to prevent or minimize such departures.
  • Identify and halt non-conforming work in their scope of work.
  • Operate instruments, equipment and perform tests when documented as qualified in training records.
